AFFECTING CULTURAL CHANGE – Excuses and Rumors

        Never make excuses for yourself or others, nor circulate rumors or bad news. Nothing ever goes perfectly to plan, especially in the world of Information Technology. Anything from simple system changes to elaborate platform changes can and will at some point bite you. It is how we handle these situations that affect cultural change. Instead of making excuses that may make you or your coworkers look inept and silly always tell the truth. People around you will respect you for being honest and forthright. We have all made mistakes in planning and implementation. Telling the truth will in most cases keep the bad rumors from circulating and creating more bad news.  General rule of thumb here, no excuses equals no rumors. No rumors or tales to tell equals a positive cultural change.
